April =PR= Family Spotlight: Bradley Karmen

Meet =PR= Leesburg employee Bradley Karmen, fresh from a race day high! Bradley toed the line at this years Pot O’Gold 10K with a number of his =PR= colleagues. After 41 years with the US Department of Agriculture, Bradley retired and decided to continue to stay busy by joining the Potomac River Running family! What is your age race category? 60 and over.

What is your favorite =PR= Race? Pot O’ Gold 10K 

What was your first race? June 2003, My first 10K! 

What is your favorite race memory? Finishing the NYC Marathon in November, 2005. 

How did you get started running, walking, or racing? Wanted to and needed to exercise! 

What is your favorite race and/or distance? 10K

What is the thing you love the most about running, walking, or racing? Running through and around my aches and pains.

Who is your biggest supporter or cheerleader? Myself! 

What is your spirit animal? Why? Dogs because they are great companions

What is your life motto or words to live by? Live your passions 

List three fun facts about yourself:

1. Originally from Long Island. 

2. Enjoy running, biking, kayaking.

3. Live on a farm in Lovettsville.

Favorite place to run, walk, or train? C&O Canal

List your three must have items when walking or running? Phone, headphones, and a fanny pack

Your last run or walk was . . . Pot O’Gold 10K 

Your last race . . . Was competitive 

If I wasn't running or walking I'd be . . . Hanging out in my backyard. 

My favorite post-run, walk, or race meal is . . . pancakes! Yum! 

What advice do you have for a new runner or walker? Build up slowly.
