Test-run the newest shoes from Saucony for free!
Join us Wednesday, June 28th during our weekly 6:30 pm Pub Run, to try out the newest shoes Saucony has to offer, including the brand-new Ride 10. Runners can choose between a 3, 4, or 5-mile route and will have the option to trial a shoe for free. Runners of all paces are welcome. After the event, join us for an extended Happy Hour at Crafthouse.

Join us as we welcome our Ragnar Ambassador to join us for some post-run fun! All participants will be taught stretching, massage, and mobility techniques that can promote recovery after long runs. We will use massage balls, rollers, and even a teammate to help you stretch! Content to include instruction on how to focus on the muscles most used during running, recovery stretches to at home after training runs, and how to best recover between relay legs during a Ragnar. Dr. Alex Green from NOVA Headache and Chronic Pain Center will be joining us on Saturday, July 8 from 12pm-2pm for free injury screenings. No appointments are needed, just come in and let him know what’s bothering you. If we have plans for a busy race season, now is the time to find out how we can make improvements to make us stronger as start ramping up our mileage.
Dr. Alex Green is a graduate of Logan University and he holds a doctorate in chiropractic. An avid weightlifter and sports enthusiast, he utilizes athletic taping and therapy modalities in his treatment protocols to permit “dynamic bracing” and rapid return to activity. His deep knowledge of rehabilitative techniques keep athletes of all stripes “ion the game”. As someone who has suffered from numerous shoulder injuries and surgeries, he has gained a unique insight into the treatment and rehabilitation of these issues going so far as to create a unique shoulder protocol for an accelerated recovery. He has brought these talents to the clinic to the benefit of those who have suffered loss of use or chronic pain issues from failed surgeries or overuse injuries. He is a native of Northern Virginia and looks forward to helping the people of this area optimize their performance in whatever area of their lives require the full use of the human body. Join us at =PR= Fairfax on Monday, July 10th for an evening with Airrosti Rehab Center. Physicians from Airrosti will be conducting injury screenings to anyone interested before or after the fun run. They will be available to talk through any injury related questions you may have or advice you may need on recurring pain. We look forward to seeing you there!

Come by PR Burke on Sunday, July 16th from 5-6 PM for a free clinic with Dr. Green of NOVA Headache & Chronic Pain Center. Dr. Green will talk about ways to prevent knee pain. He will be explaining and demonstrating how to properly use rehab equipment such as resistance bands, foam rollers, and kinesio tape. Come by =PR= Fairfax for our weekly Monday fun runs. On Monday, July 17th, our local Ragnar Relay ambassador Christine will be leading the runners in an instructional recovery clinic that can be useful wherever the run takes you. We encourage runners of all levels to join us for this 3-5 mile run around Fairfax Corner!
With over 12 years of personal training and coaching experience, Christine Cassar will lead an instructional class on how runners can use a tennis ball to ease tension in muscles that will be put to the test during their Ragnar Race! A tennis ball is great to pack for the van, and participants will be shown how easy and convenient it is to use it during their “down time” in their van or at exchange points to relieve aches and pains in their lower body, glutes, as well as their lower and upper back. Tennis balls and a handout will be provided.
Come out and join us for our monthly fun run with Forge Brew Works in Lorton, Virginia! We will meet at the brewery and start our run at 6:30 PM. Be sure to stick around after the run to try some local craft beer selections by Forge Brew Works.
