A little about Dr. Farid Mohammadi

Dr. Farid Mohammadi is a native of Northern Virginia. He graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor of Science with a minor in Chemistry. Immediately following, Dr. Farid went to Palmer College of Chiropractic in Florida where he received his Doctorate of Chiropractic. His passion to help people and joy of staying active has led him to become a sports chiropractor.

Dr. Farid is certified in Selective Functional Movement Assessment (SFMA) and Graston technique. He took his Active Release Technique (ART) certification courses in 2012 and 2013. Dr. Farid is also certified in Dry Needling technique. His certifications grant Dr. Farid the opportunity to work with athletes of all sports levels. His philosophy is based on quality rather than quantity of care; as he says “It’s not what you do, it’s how you do it.”

Dr. Farid’s experience ranges from high-volume, efficient treatments to low-volume, individualized sessions. His preference is to practice in a smaller clinic setting to provide highly personalized services. Dr. Farid’s clients often express appreciation for his individualized treatment plans, and have even said, “It’s like we have a chiropractor, physical therapist, and personal trainer at the same time.”

Back 2 Basics: Fundamentals of Running at Crossfit Route 7 @ Crossfit Rt 7 | Vienna | Virginia | United States

Although exercise physiology principles have been studied for years and have not changed much lately, our running society has begun to focus more on the principles of running economy, and recently-developed theories about proper technique may be leading to a revolution in running shoe design!

Training the body to execute precise, efficient movements will pay dividends for all sorts of races, with perhaps greatest impact on the longer distances – without getting fitter, you will be able to run faster with proper technique.

But good technique is not just for the racing set – improving your running technique can help you minimize the risk of injury and keep you making positive steps forward in your running. There are even a variety of new footwear designed to help you transition to a more efficient running form, although for many, better form may simply mean you come to require less “stability” in your running shoes than previously.

Running Fundamentals Program: “Back to Basics”

So, how do you get more efficient? Join =PR= for our FREE one-hour “Back to Basics” clinics. Come learn more about the key aspects of good running form, and how to implement them, including appropriate:

– head/shoulder/body position
– knee angle
– foot strike
– stride length
– stride frequency

Space is limited!  So don’t delay and RSVP today!

Yoga for Runners with Daniel Castan
Apr 1 @ 9:00 am – 10:00 am

This is an hour clinic to show runners how proper stretching can help in injury prevention. During this clinic 4-5 different yoga postures will be demonstrated which can help target and give therapy to the muscles most commonly used in running. We will break down each posture and help runners know what stretching specific muscles should feel like and common bad habits of stretching that may actually cause injury. We will talk about how yoga is actually a great cross training tool. We will also talk about common stretches used and taught to runners and how to get more benefit out of these stretches. By the end of this clinic runners will have better understanding of their body and how to properly stretch, plus a 5-10 minute yoga sequence that they can do on their own on a daily basis. This way, runners can stay constantly close to their PRs or even break their PRs!

About Daniel
Dan found yoga his freshmen year of college. What he thought was going to be an easy stretching class to supplement his long distance running turned into a love of the practice. After taking four years of Vinyasa, Hatha, Ashtanga and Bikram yoga, he decided to take his 200 hour teacher training in Virginia Beach, with Ann Richardson and Beryl Bender Birch. Dan likes to blend all of his yogic experiences into an athletic, fun practice to help his students concentrate on staying present.

Go Beyond Pace Fun Run powered by Milestone Sports @ =PR= DC
Apr 5 @ 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm
Go Beyond Pace Fun Run powered by Milestone Sports @ =PR= DC | Washington | District of Columbia | United States

Are you searching for an inexpensive way to track your mileage and running metrics? If so, we have the answer. The MilestonePod came from the desire of a running shop owner (Tzach) to better serve his customers. Tzach knew old shoes can lead to impact and gait changes, and thus, injury. His search for an easy and inexpensive shoe odometer came up short. When he consulted with his running “tech” friends, Jason and Meir, they personally understood this market need. Soon, the shoe odometer idea expanded to include gait tracking as well, and the MilestonePod was born. How you run matters and the MilestonePod will help improve performance, help you stay healthy, and help you find the right shoe. We consider these the biggest benefits of the MilestonePod and App experience. “Go Beyond Pace” and demo a pod with us so you can connect to your run in a whole new way.
