We hope to have you join us for a very informative seminar given by =PR= Co-Owner and professional triathlete, Margie Shapiro. Margie will provide detail on the concepts behind your training, addressing smart training and fueling/hydration. The seminar will delve into the basic exercise physiology relevant to marathon training to explain why, especially as your long runs get longer, running at the appropriate effort level becomes increasingly important.
Additionally, Margie will discuss the importance of fueling and hydrating effectively. Marathon training is about more than putting in the miles and doing the workouts. Many people throw away months of training on race day because they do not refuel effectively during the race. Your body burns on average about 100 calories/mile – that means during the course of a marathon, you’re burning 2600 calories – just to keep yourself running. It’s therefore critical to learn to eat and drink correctly, both to make your training more effective and your race successful. This seminar will cover what to eat and drink, when, and why – before, during, and after training and the race itself.
Margie will be conducting this seminar on 4 different dates, in 4 different PR store locations.
If you’d like to join us for the ARLINGTON seminar, please RSVP below.
