Jeff Grabosky, Store Manager

Hometown: Holmdel, NJ (home of one of the hardest HS cross country courses ever....)

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Jeff ran cross country all four years in high school and ran his first marathon while in college. He enjoys running races ranging in distance from 5K to 100 miles. In 2011, Jeff ran over 3,700 miles solo and unsupported across America. He now coaches others and loves helping them attain their goals.

Maura Bigmann

Hometown: Richmond, VA

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Maura started running as a freshman in high school with cross country to stay in shape for soccer. In college, Maura started running just because she liked it. After running for a few years, she started racing doing 5ks and 10ks and did her first 10 miler this fall. Maura is currently training for the Richmond Half and plans on doing a marathon next year.

Favorite....Quote: "Remember the feeling you get from a good run is far better than the feeling you get from sitting around wishing you were running."

 

Rory Duffield

Hometown: Amherst, NH

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Rory began running competatively in the 4th grade and now as a member of the =PR= racing team continues to compete in numerous road races from 5K to half marathons. In the spring of 2010, he ran his first ever marathon and ran a qualifying time for Boston. Rory has been coaching track and cross country at Thomas Edison High School since 2005 and is also an assistant coach with the =PR= High School Summer Training Program. He is also a VHSL certified coach and a USA T&F certified offcial. Rory's favorite local place to run is the Manassas Battlefields.

Andrea Ferri

Hometown: Fall Church, VA

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Andrea ran for fun in middle school, but did not start taking the sport seriously until her junior year of high school. As a three sport varsity athlete at JEB Stuart High School, she decided to end her Field Hockey and Basketball careers to focus solely on running. This realization came after her first season of Cross Country when she fell in love with the sport. After modest success in the Northern Virginia area, she went to the University of Tennessee and walked on to the Cross Country and Track teams. After running strenuously for four years, she decided to take a long break from running, but is now currently training for the Nike Women’s half marathon.

Favorite....Place to Run: Cades Cove in Tennessee, Burke Lake Park

 

Jason Kain

Hometown: Springfield, VA

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Jason started running in elementary school by running his first 5K race in the 6th grade with his father. As a 7th and 8th grader, Jason began running track and field and won first place in the 4 X 100 meter relay. In High School, Jason competed in the 200 M, 400 M, and 800 M races for the winter track and field team. Although Jason did not compete at the collegiate level, he did continue running with his friends on the track and field, cross country, and triathlon team at James Madison University. After college, Jason has started training for longer races. Jason has completed many 5 K and 10 K races, and plans to run the Leesburg 20 K in August 2012. Within the next year, Jason hopes to complete his first half marathon and marathon.

Favorite.... places to run: Burke Lake Park, Lake Accotink Park, on any trial in the Shenandoah Valley, and at the beach

 

Chris Kelly

Hometown: Brooklyn, NY

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Chris has been running for 38 years. Although he participates in several other sports, by far running is his favorite. He has been able to average 30+ miles a week since he started, and comments, "It's funny but running just keeps getting better each year .. my last marathon 3:42:30 and it was a PR for me."

Favorite....piece of marathon advice: "Start slow and finish strong. Remember, the wind is your friend."

 

Bill Pemberton

Hometown: Springfield, VA

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Bill started his running career Freshman year of High School competing in Cross Country, Winter & Spring Track. He continued that competitive passion through four years of college. After taking roughly 15 years off from competitive running, Bill ventured back to the excitement of the sport in 2009 where he focused his attention on the marathon distance completing 4 marathons including qualifying and competing at Boston. Bill's focus for 2011 will be in Triathlon...rounding out the year at the Florida Iron Man.

Greg Potestio

Hometown: Willow Grove, PA

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Greg ran track and cross country in high school and college. Though not the fastest, he was lucky to be a member of great teams training under legendary coaches. He focused on running the 5k and 10k while competing for Haverford College. Since graduating, he's tried his hand at various distances on the road. He finished the 2009 Philadelphia Marathon and the 2012 Seattle Half.

Chris Smith

Hometown: Centreville, VA

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Chris started running indoor track as a local at Westfield High School to stay in shape for soccer. Starting in 2011 he ventured into the world of triathlons and currently races in anything from a 5k to the marathon. You can catch him on the trails of Bull Run Battlefield preparing for the 2013 Marine Corps Marathon training for a Boston Marathon qualification.

Favorite.... quote: "If you can still feel pain, it means you're still alive...so keep going."

 

Stephanie Thompson

Hometown: Toledo, OH

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Stephanie began running as a means to take in the beautiful surroundings while living in NC, get in better shape, and to try something new. She found that it was a great stress reliever, it was a great way to meet others, and it was also pretty fun! Stephanie completed her first half marathon in Myrtle Beach in Feb 2009. She then tackled many other half marathons, 10-milers, 10k’s, and marathons. She ran a Boston qualifier in her first marathon in Houston 2010. She then ran Marine Corps Marathon that same year, and Boston 2011. She enjoys the excitement and challenge of races. Stephanie is currently training for the Detroit Marathon (Oct. 2012).

Johnathan Tolentino

Hometown: Fairfax, VA

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Johnathan is a local product who ran both indoor and outdoor track for Bishop O'Connell High School, sprinting as a freshman and competing for distance events the following three years. During his undergrad days at the Corcoran College of Art + Design (a place where extracurricular sports were non-existent) he grew to appreciate running as an excellent form of leisure. Now a freelance graphic designer, Johnathan is often bound by computers for countless hours, and going out for "awesomely long runs" has become his preferred outlet for reenergizing the mind, body, and soul.

Jorge Toro

Hometown: Falls Church, VA

Running Experience and Accomplishments: Jorge, the jack of all trades (or sports), plays soccer, hockey, runs and is a cyclists. Although a better scorer on ice or grass, he enjoys running and being outdoors. Jorge has found that running is an excellent form of cross training and is continuing to grow as runner.
