Training Programs
Interested in taking your running to the next level? Looking for some expert guidance and support? =PR= Training Programs, LLC, is focused solely on coaching. Through this subsidiary business, we offer training programs for every runner -- from novice to elite athlete.
We have a proven track record of providing the appropriate mix of training guidance, race preparation, motivation and encouragement to help athletes of all levels develop. We believe a disciplined program enables a runner to make measureable improvements -- regardless of his/her age, talent, experience, or initial fitness level.
Depending on your background and goals, you can select the training program (and program meeting time) that is best for you. We offer Group-based programs like our popular Running 101 Program and Distance Training Program (all participants follow similar basic schedule focused toward a common goal), and Individualized programs (tailored to a runner's specific background and goals, which may be unique and vary dramatically.)

Now Available...
- Running 101 & Running 201: Late spring sessions of Running 101 and Running 201 programs begin the week of May 13/14 (start date depends on location). Get consistent and make progress -- whether you're just starting running or working on those farther/faster goals. Sessions are offered at the following locations: Arlington, Ashburn, Burke, Leesburg (only 101 is offered in this location), Reston, DC (Cleveland Park), and Rockville. {Late spring sessions for Running 101 & 201: Week of May 13/14 - Week of May 8/9 (start/end dates vary depending on location)} Registration is now open for Running 101 and Running 201!
- Individualized Training Programs: Individualized Training Programs through the Arlington-based PR Running Club or Online Training can start any time -- choose your event, select your goal, and contact us! Get ready for your spring race goals. Having a coach to "answer to" can help you stay focused and make steady improvement. These programs can start any time.
- Triathlon 101: PR's newest training program, Triathlong 101 is focused on the novice triathlete and is ideal designed to prepare you for your first triathlon. The typical participant will be new to the sport, though the program is appropriate for those who may have “completed” a triathlon in the past and are looking for guidance on how to improve the experience – while focused on the novice, Triathlon 101 is open to all abilities and the coaching staff will be able to provide more advanced training options upon request. More experienced triathletes seeking a group support network and training partners are also encouraged to participate. Locations include Arlington, Sterling and Maryland.
Triathlon 101 Sessions start in regular intervals and are preceded by formal kickoff meetings, after which participants are invited to participate in any/all weekday training sessions for the subsequent eight-weeks, as well as weekday and weekend clinics. Coaches will also offer additional training opportunities on both weekdays and weekends – sites and times for weekend training and clinics will vary. There are several kickoff opportunities and you can attend ANY kickoff -- they kickoffs get your training jump started with a LOT of useful information on triathlon. - Summer/Fall Distance Training Program: Whether you are a novice athlete or an experienced runner, a Distance Training Program can help you get to the finish line, and/or get there faster than you have before or thought you could. Receive expert coaching, attend seminars offered by leading experts, receive weekly email guidance and tips from your coaches, and enjoy other giveaways and goodies along the way!
The Summer/Fall Distance Training Program is geared toward the Marine Corps Marathon, Army 10-Miler. It's also appropriate for other fall marathons like Chicago, Steamtown, NYC, Richmond, and Philly, and half marathons including VA Beach Labor Day weekend. The program provides everything you could need for a great race experience and is designed for both new and experienced runners! The first group runs are informal on the weekend of 6/15-6/16, with training schedules beginning the week of 6/17 and the first "official" group long run the weekend of 6/22-6/23. Registration is now open!
- Youth Track Program: Introduce your younger child to Track & Field and/or help your older child improve his/her event specific skills. This low-key, fun program includes sprinting and distance running, jumping, and more. Athletes will learn a routine of proper warmup, drills, and stretching, and be exposed to some of the more specific, technical aspects of certain events (starts, form, etc.) This program is appropriate for youth from grades K-8 (ages 5-14), as well as high school athletes seeking additional help in the off-season/over the summer. {Fall Session: September 8 - October 27 (group meets every Sunday / Time is TBD)}
